Making the Most of Scanning and OCR
This session focuses on scanning, imaging, and OCR and the implementation of those technologies. Topics to be covered include:
Defining imaging, scanning, OCR and related terminology
Issues to consider when working with these technologies
Advanced recognition concepts
Sharing real world implementation experiences
The presenter has built numerous capture systems and will be sharing key ideas in the development of successful systems from an end user perspective. Learn how these technologies have evolved and how you can build the most efficient solution for your needs.
Why does a technology work great for one company and yet falls flat for another? Its not the technology that fails, its the process. Technology projects fail because of poor planning, incorrect expectations, and corporate politics, to name just a few. Not only are failed projects bad for the bottom line but they also take their toll on the professional and personal lives of all those involved. Its not luck. It's knowing what to do and doing it consistently. Learn and apply the techniques of peak performers to your technology implementation, greatly increasing the odds of success. Topics include ownership, getting others on board, getting the right requirements, and managing risk.
This session was created primarily for college students that are just heading for the world of business and the start of their "first" career. This goes far beyond the effort to get ahead in that first job and touches on how to become successful in all the important aspects of your life. Key topics include human relations, creating a long time perspective, planning for long-term financial success, and positioning yourself to follow your dreams when you find what your life's calling really is. It was created for those just starting out but has hit the mark with other "more seasoned" individuals as a call to action for the things they didn't do in their pursuits through the years.
The speaker will discuss some of the up and coming technologies that will likely have an effect on how you do business in the near future. He will also talk about potential trends in the industry with a strong focus on Records Management and IT. The remainder of the session will be directed at implementation of technology and how to be as successful as possible in these endeavors. Most projects tend to have difficulties that cause many of them to fail and most of the time technology is not the culprit. We will discuss the technical aspects but also the people issues that give the greatest risk. The goal for this session is to increase your odds of success and help you be ready when the unexpected happens. The speaker is a veteran of many projects and will share lessons learned from both successes and failures.
